Successful Clinical Study on Vital Force™–HGH in a Botanical Eye Gel Formula Biomed sponsored a double-blind, placebo controlled clinical study on a topical eye gel to test the efficacy of a nanomolar and lower concentrations (homeopathic) of recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH). There were 121 women (85%) and men (15%) who completed the six-week, double-blinded, placebo controlled study ages ranging from 34-74 years old. This study was conducted in Seattle WA with Barbara Brewitt, Ph.D. as Principal Investigator and Lynn Amsbury, M.D. as Clinical Investigator. The study design tested three groups: 1) a placebo that looked and felt like the real eye gel (Pl); 2) a botanical eye-gel product that has been on the market for over 15 years, thus consumer effective (B) and 3) Vital Force-HGH plus this botanical eye-gel formula (HGH-VF). Participants were randomly assigned to one of these groups. Each participant filled out a ‘Review of Self-Observable Symptoms’ form every week for six weeks including a baseline prior to study entry. There were 19 symptoms related to the skin or the skin appearance around the eyes. Scores were self rated 0-10, with 0 if there was no symptom, 1 if the symptom was present but very minor and anywhere up to 10, where 10 represented that the symptom was quite extreme. We found five statistically significant results out of these 19 symptoms compared to placebo. This ratio of significant results is far greater than that expected by randomness, which might provide one statistically significant result out of the 19 tested. The five results all support one another, which also provides logical confirmation of the significance of the rhGH topical treatment. Participants reported decreased wrinkles , decreased sagging skin under the eyes , increased skin resilience , decreased oily skin , and increased attractive skin under the eyes over time compared to the placebo group. There was no sensitivity to age or gender or health status; thus the HGH-VF worked equally well for all subjects. Interestingly, the commercial botanical based eye gel without the VitalForce HGH had no superior results of any statistical significance compared to placebo. Thus, even though this eye gel has been on the market for years, it lacks statistical relevance and is not considered “Evidence Based” in performance over time when compared to placebo. There were 17 other self-observable symptoms related to ‘drug’ effects of any of the treatments tested. There were no statistically significant findings that would indicate a drug effect that could not be explained by ‘randomness’ from the sample size. Only VitalForce HGH was found to have a preponderance (26%) of statistically significant effects on the skin and peri-orbital (around the eye) skin. In an earlier study, it was observed that oral administration of homeopathic HGH provided unique benefits on skin moisture/softening to subjects not previously reported by injectable growth hormone. This current eye-gel study also observed unique benefits to the skin, suggesting that a different mechanism of action may be operating with very low nanogram doses of growth hormone applied topically. It has been proposed that topical application of homeopathic rhGH may play a role in detoxification of the skin via drawing out toxins. The skin is a major contact organ interfacing the outer environment with the inner body. Part of the skin’s purpose is to buffer and protect the body’s interior from harsh environmental conditions. In Natural Pharmacy,a feature article entitled "hGH, IGF-1, and Age-Related Stress” points out that one of the significant parameters contributing to aging is a build up of toxins within the skin. HGH in combination with well-known botanicals in the eye gel formula may decrease capillary and lymphatic fragility by restoring fiber strength in the superficial horny layers of the skin to directly to protect the skin from toxins. The conclusions of this study are that homeopathic application of nanogram amounts of rhGH carried by a common eye gel once daily significantly improves under-eye skin condition, decreases wrinkles, decreases sagging skin, decreases oily skin, improves skin resilience, improves attractiveness of eyes and skin appearance compared to placebo. Biomed Inc. owns the composition patent rights to homeopathic preparations of purified growth hormone and continues to develop and research diverse and novel applications for growth hormone. This is only the beginning of many applications of homeopathic growth factors for skin care products.
